Win a trip to WSBK!
Thursday, March 19, 2009
Here are some answers to your questions.
Steve,
Good to hear from you.
1. Due to the current economic climate and the consumers' hesitation to spend their hard earned money, most trackday organizations have seen significant reductions in sign-ups. Committing to renting tracks and all the additional infrastructure associated with it is a large financial risk, especially for someone like us for whom trackdays really aren't the primary business. That's why we decided to hold off on trackdays for this year. Depending on how sales progress during spring and summer there may be a chance for a MotoForza trackday in fall. We may also piggyback on an event run by a regular trackday provider. We would certainly let you know if that happens.
Other than that, check on our site, our blog or just call us. I will go to different trackdays this year and it is always more fun to have a group together. We just did a day this past Sunday at Willow Springs with Hypercycle and we had a group of about 7-8 friends/customers.
2. The Streetfighter is not due to arrive in the US until late May. We are planning an event around the nationwide premier and we will certainly mention it in our monthly e-news letter. You are getting that, aren't you?
3. Because we didn't design it!!! I don't know why the site does not provide any specifications. It has been brought to the factories attention and hopefully we'll see this fixed soon.
In the meantime, I can give you the specs if you tell me which model you are looking for.
Best regards,
Balz

Hello Moto-Forza,
I have some questions for your blog.
1. Will you be running any track days this year? I enjoyed all three last year.
2. When will you have a Streetfighter to display?
3. Why is the Husqvarna web site so usless? Can't they supply any specifications on the bikes, like weight, fuel cap, etc.?

TAX INCREASE
California tax increase from 7.75% to 8.75%!! Our wonderful government officials have felt it necessary to raise our state sales tax 1% to take effect on April 1, 2009. While 1% might not seem like a lot, think about this:
1% increase on sales tax for a M696 = $99.90 increase on your OTD price!
1% increase on sales tax for an 1198s = $227.90 increase on your OTD price!
That's a substantial chunk of change, any way you cut it.
On top of the tax rate increase DMV registration fees are supposed to be increasing as well! Although we are unsure at this time when that will take effect, but we will keep you posted!!!!

Motorcycle Stimulus Plan
Details of the new stimulus package signed into law on Tuesday include benefits
for purchasers of new motorcycles. Ducati North America requested details on the
package and received the following information directly from the AMA Government

2. Bike must be less than 8,500 lbs Gross Vehicle Weight
3. Cost less than $49,500
4. You must make less than $125,000 in gross taxable income ($250,000 for
joint filers)
5. Deduction is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income
between $125,000 and $135,000 ($250,000 and $260,000 in the case of a
joint return).
6. If you meet the criteria, you will be able to deduct the sales tax and excise

In the Economic Stimulus bill, Motorcycle is defined under section 571.3 of title 49,
Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) (as in effect on the date of the enactment).
Section 571.3 of Title 49 CFR:

So if you were waiting for the perfect opportunity to purchase a new bike, NOW is the time, with both the tax deduction and the great rates from Ducati and Husqvarna (for more details go to our website or give us a call).
